Board of Zoning Appeals is a five-person board appointed by the President for staggered three-year terms. This Zoning Board hears arguments for granting a relaxation of the zoning ordinance standards. An example of this would be a citizen who wants to build a structure closer to the lot line than the Village Code allows. The citizen could appeal his denial of a building permit by the building inspector to place the building in violation of the zoning code to this Board.
